I know this may be a bit of a long shot but does anyone have a photo of Harold Gee Butchers on Stanley roads from the 1960/1970's, it was opposite joseph parrs builders merchants/yard. It was my great grandfather inlaws shop and I would love to get a photo of it for family. Many thanks Jo x

She did at least I think she did, my other half Joanne morgan has very kindly put these post on for me but its actually my great grandfather on my mums side, Harold & Jane gee where my great grand parents & there daughter alda gee, later Gregory was my grandmother sadly no longer with us, my mum Alda's daughter actually lived in the butchers shop for a number of years with parents & grandparents before marrying my dad... If anyone reading this & any of the previous posts has any more feedback or questions, pls pls leave me feedback

Jojio,
Did Harold and his wife have another daughter?

I am a little confused as you say that Harold's daughter is your soon- to- be ma in law? If she is the person I remember she would be now in her mid 70's.

We lived on 259 Marsh Lane and Mr. Gee was our local butcher. When I was about 8 (now almost 61) Mr. Gee gave me a scooter that had belonged to his daughter along with some other toys for my siblings. Happy memories of a lovely man. His daughter worked alongside me for a short time at Edward Wilson on Aintree Road where I relayed the above story to her. I remember the shop had sawdust on the floor and a big wooden chopping block type table.

   The girl I am thinking of wasn't Gee but Rogerson....................

Harold was a friend of my dad, but the blonde girl I was remembering was not his daughter, but surname of Rogerson. Did her dad have a butchers shop????

Must be the new meds the cardiologist put me on last week......

Joy & Glenys - I have a question. Harold Gee who had the Butcher's shop
and was Mayor of Bootle from l969 thru l979?
I thought his daughter was named Dorothy and she married a Corfield.
I know she was a very pretty girl. Is this the family Joy, you are related to?
I believe Bob Hamo posted some great photos of Harold Gee and his wife
when they were Mayor & Mayoress of Bootle.

Patricia,
I think I am getting the Rogerson and Gee girls mixed up.
