My Dad, took me to see the Bridge over the River Kwai in the 1950s, it was called the Courmont back then.

The last film I watched there, was the Devil rides out. That was 1970, I was home on leave, the book was better than the film though.

I always sat in the middle of the First Row of the Circle, always the only one up there. Always had a great uninterrupted view of the screen. No one ever blocking my view, often had the place to myself. My little piece of Heaven and Escapism for many years. Finally left school and joined ABC as Trainee Manager, went to Carlton Green Lane for Job Interview. Got the job posted to ABC Birkenhead then Forum and Futurist & Scala with relief work at Astoria and Commodore. Left after 18 months in 1968 to join the Giro as didn't have enough time off to go to the Cinema elsewhere to watch movies.
