I dont know if you have this map but it may be of interest to someone . I got it from the library in Liverpool.
My great grandad William Eley Ward is listed in the trade directories 1936-41 as a fried fish dealer (chippy) ,333 Stanley Road and I believe he lived there through the Blitz
He had a chippy called Ward's Supper Bar ,do not know when he finished working...anyone remember the chippy or has any pictures of the area at the time.
I think 333 Stanley Road is now part of the site on the Strand Shopping center

thanks BOBHAMO for reply and photo.
I am led to believe they moved sometime after the war to Aigburth,(dont know exactly when)...and I dont know anything about Hoylake!
He must have retired after the war because he was born in 1880 and in 1949 ,when it was a Lennards boot and shoe shop ,he would have been 69.

Youve got a great forum here with lots of info.

Hornby Road and Marsh Lane right side going to Liverpool...now I know your looking

Thanks for that Henry, how did you find out the name of it :?:
I remember the rumours about that but don't remember any names of who it was. I also remember being in a brawl in there one Saturday night, until we saw 5 or 6 Chinese cooks running at us with meat cleavers in their hands, we just legged it that's how I remembered the name of it. :)
Cheers Joe.
