My Grandad was Danny Carney, he lived on Bibbys Lane and worked as a foreman at the Melanear Tin Smelter. He was married to Maude. He was a massive red and apparently went to see them play in Reykjavic, in Iceland. He apparently had a bad temper at times ( especially when Liverpool lost). When he retired he didn’t want a clock, he got a case of Dimple Whisky. My Dad, Jimmy Carney also worked in the Melanear until 1966 when we moved to Nigeria. My dad was also a red, he married my mum Marie Carney and my brother John was born in Fazakely hospital in 1959 and I was born at home at 16 August street, in 1966. My dad used to drink at the Linacre. I had some little mates in August street William and baby Joe. Ring a bell with anyone? Best Regards Steve
