I was hoping someone can help. I'm trying to trace my great grandmother back to her parents and siblings. My grandmothers name was Mary Connolly born in co Wexford Ireland in 1871. I don't know parents names or siblings and I don't know when she moved to bootle. I do know she married William Pendleton and they lived in 70 brook hill road on the 1901 census. I don't know where to look for information on Mary Connollys parents and siblings. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi Clare,

Is this their marriage in 1892?

Name: Mary Connolly
Gender: Female
Marital Status: Single
Age: 21
Birth Date: 1871
Marriage Date: 24 Jul 1892
Marriage Place: St Mary Kirkdale, Walton On The Hill, Lancaster, England
Father: Thomas Connolly
Spouse: William Pendleton
FHL Film Number: 1545940
Reference ID: it199, pg121, no242

If you have a copy of the marriage cert it will hopefully give more info on father's occupation and an address she married from.

Good work Jan, there is a Mary with father Thomas in Bootle in 1891 but they are all born in Lpool or Bootle.
In 1911 she states again she is born in Wexford Ireland. Yes the marriage cert is the way to go unless someone can do a look up at the R.O Lpool.

Hi Clare,

If you go to Liverpool Records Office, you will be able to see the marriage on microfilm, you could print a copy off for about 50p. You won't need to book an appointment to use the film readers.

Here is the ref for it from their online catalogue. (St Mary's Kirkdale)

Ref No 283 MYK/3/14
Title Marriage register
Date 20 Dec 1891-29 Mar 1893
