My name is Marcel Boven. I live in The Netherlands and I am working on a website about all the casualties of Operation Market Garden (1944). One of them is Edward John Farrell of Bootle. He served as a sergeant with the 97 Anti-Tank Regiment, Royal Artillery (Army number: 1474029).
He was a son of James and Catherine and died on 27 september 1944. He is buried in Valkenswaard, The Netherlands, close to where I live.
I would like to ask if any of you has any kind of information about Edward John Farrell or about his relatives.

Hello Marcel and welcome to our Forum and I am sure you will get some help here. The will of Edward John Farrell was probated in 1945 in that document his address was listed as 17 Hemans Street Bootle and the executor was a James Farrell occupation river boatman (assumption Father or possible brother).

Welcome to the forum Marcel,

I had a look in the 1938 (trades/street directory for Liverpool and at 17 Hemans Street Bootle was Farrell Mrs Mary. Maybe a grandmother or Aunt.

I found a bit more info for Edward John Farrell on find my past, all the details that have already been found add up, it states his place of birth as St James Bootle, and age at death 25.

I can't find a birth reg for Edward John Farrell registered West Derby, but found one for John E Farrell 1919, mother's maiden name Larkin.

I found this 1915 marriage
