:D :D Too late, Eileen - ALLLLLL Gone - sorry! :D I'll see
what I can do next time!! x

Thanks, Tina, for your lovely comment. Glad that you can easily
get the "Good Stuff!" don't know what I would do without the
Shop in Hampton! Although, I believe there are places
that can mail your order to you, will have to look into that.

Looking out the window the other day and there before my
very eyes was a HUMMINGBIRD!! I immediately ran and
recovered the Hummingbird Feeders from last year while
Lew went to the store to buy the nectar. I do make it on
occasion but wanted something fast. We are now enjoying
them each day - love Hummingbirds. It fascinates me that
they can find their way back here every year from Mexico.

Glad to see you have a hummingbird Patricia. Ours have never left
We have about ten Anna's and four Rufous but the Rufous should
be leaving soon but they will be replaced by American Gold Finches
I have 6 feeders on the go but all I have ever used is sugar water.
1 cup sugar 4 cups water and I am filling the small feeders twice a day
and the one larger feeder every three days.
Before we left on our long cruise all I had in the fridge was four
large (2 litre) containers of food for the Hummers. Our granddaughter Kalika
came round every day to fill or defrost the feeders and if she was a little late
she would be met by a few very angry and hungry birds at our front door.

Lovely photo Matt - the first time I saw two Gold Finches at our Bird
Bath, I thought somebody had lost their Canaries!! Now,
I'm slightly more educated as to Bird Wildlife!! :D We have an
abundance of Blue Jays, Cardinals, Towhees & Thrashers they
all love the peanuts which we usually shell for them. Told Lew
they are so spoilt it's like: "Peel me a Grape!" :D

Finally in ALL its GLORY!!! :D First photo I posted was back in March
thought the last two blooms would never open before the first ones
fell off!!! Going to be very interesting as to whether I can get it to
bloom for the third time after I cut it back. Guess that will be Next
year's story - things go rather slowly regarding my Orchard! :D

Thanks, Sheelagh: Can more than say I've had my "Monies Worth!!"
out of that Orchard - going for a third time now! :D

When I was dating Lew he came over one day and I saw him
leafing through pages in a book. When I asked him what kind
of book it was, he said it was "American Recipes" as he was homesick
for some Southern dessert that his Mom always made. Maybe he was
using psychology because when he asked me if I would make it, if he
got the necessary ingredients, I couldn't refuse (you couldn't at that time
purchase the Nabisco Nilla wafers at the local shops. Wonder if you can
now?) Anyhow, l did indeed make it and my entire family just loved it. :D

To-day, Janine invited us to dinner and I offered to bring dessert after thinking
about what to take, I thought as I haven't made Banana Pudding in a month
of Sundays and Janine always loved it, I would go ahead with that!
Here is the end result! Will be glad to share the recipe if you can get the Nilla Wafers! :D

Hi girls, met up with Mo today, just lovely over a cuppa. She is off to Vancouver to see her eldest son Gary in 2 days.. Not flying China Airlines this time, two coughs and a splutter!!!! Qantas to Sydney then Air Canada. She was telling me behind where Gary lives she can see the Mountains. Last time up Grouse Mountain it was snowing, this time it's summer and the bears could be out and about. My grandee Madeline is 15 today, can't believe it! She had 5 costume changes in the Wizard of Oz show I went to. Before it started she tapped me on the head and said "Oh Nan you could have been a Munchkin, I'm too tall"....Tina xox

First of all Tina BIG hugs to Madeline on her birthday.
Now you have to tell Mo there is still snow up on Grouse in
fact the snowshoeing trail is still open but there are lots of bears out
in the Grizzly Preserve and there has been an awful lot of black bears
around on the North Shore mountains.

Hate to see this moving to Page 2. Is there a reason nobody is posting
on Photos for Marielou?

After a lovely annual Family get together at Duck, North Carolina,
sitting on the deck, this was our evening send-off until hopefully,
next year........

We took two of the kids over to Crosby at the weekend. We went to the Jospice teddy bears' picnic and garden party, on to Coronation Park and finally spent some time flying kites on the beach. It was a lovely sunny day so they had lots of fun but unfortunately it made photograph taking a bit hit and miss... I just pointed my camera and hoped for the best.
Noticed some great changes in Coro Park since we left the town ten years ago but disappointed by the amount of dross on the beach.

Bee - Your lovely photos certainly brought back a lot of memories for me.
Whenever we visited our Grandparents (Practically every Sunday with Mum taking
a home baked Apple Pie for which she was famous) They lived at 69 Seafield Ave,
and as children were not allowed to listen to Grown up conversation, my bros and
I would walk down Endbut Lane, cross over Liverpool Road to the Coronation
Park. I remember the boys used to have their toy boats to sail on a large pond
(looked large to me at the time). Some good times were had there. :D
Thanks for your photos!!! :D

Great photos Bee, Coronation park, usually very nice but can get a bit rowdy of an evening, that's when the teens take over!
Similar memory to Patricia, days of model boats sailing proudly on the lake (duck pond) every Sunday, spectacular to a child :)
Part of beach by leisure centre (usually the busiest) does tend to gather more litter than rest of coast!
Hall road, still pretty decent, always lots of voluntary litter picking teams in action. Very poor facilities though, cafe/visitors centre wouldn't go amiss :)
Looks like you picked a lovely day for it Bee :D

Here is Prestatyn beach, by Ffrith at 3pm. last Sunday. There is a cafe by the town, but there aren't as many people going to the beach anymore.

Hi Patricia, I saw the picture of your plant, which I think is an Orchid and I'm hoping you can give me some advice on how to look after mine. My mother in law gave it to us and I nearly killed in on the day we got it. Here it is in soil, which I soaked in water.

Image
It's come back and has flowered since. Have you got any tips on how to look after it please? I'm pretty green fingered; I've looked after this plant for the last nineteen years. Don't know what it is though :D

Appreciate your kind comment, Lily regarding Gaynor & Peter's,
Anniversary. They are just starting to experience the "Empty Nest
Syndrome!" Said last weekend was the first in 24 years that they
were completely on their own as Colin the youngest is now at
Uni!!!

Kathy - Delighted to see you posting, have missed you and also
Robyn on the Forum!! Love the photo of your Grandson and Mika.
Does your Grandson speak Japenese and where did he meet her?
Also, how did the trip to the States go for your granddaughter, I bet
they had some interesting stories to tell?

Phil, I have to tell you any success I have had with my orchid was due
to Dorothy who is an expert on same and I'm sure she would be glad
to provide all the necessary answers for your success with your plant! :D

Dorothy told me to cut it back to the first joint and that is what I have
done each time it has finished flowering. I also put four ice cubes once
a week in the plant pot as to the watering of same. Mine has now flowered
for the third time but it is usually once a year so one does not have to
be in any hurry! :D However, once it starts flowering it lasts for over
three months as I have just lost all the flowers on mine but it started flowering
back in May!! Good Luck!! :D
