is working today but the turkey, spiral ham, yams ,roast spuds, squash and homemade chestnut stuffing was great :)

Of course you all can come Tina :) but you are always off cruising somewhere
Do you not like flying :?:
Sheila will have to get a lot of turkey soup made though but Jewish Penicillin(chicken soup)
is a lot easier to make and cures everything

Thanks Patricia would have been nice if we would have celebrated on the Monday instead of the Sunday
but James our grandson, as he is low man on the totem pole, had to work on Thanksgiving Day(after school dishwasher at the Keg Steakhouse& Bar
restaurant :))

James has a good work ethic Matt. My Mum when she was only 13 worked at a Jewish Bakery in Smithdown Road and on the Sabbath she worked for the Lady of the House, fetching and carrying for her, combing her hair with a beautiful comb. She told me all about Chicken Soup. I often read about in novels. Tina :D

Matt - My eldest grandson, Trevor, worked in a local Restaurant during the
summer from the age of 16 all through graduating Uni, starting as a Dishwasher
and eventually over the years became one of the Cooks there. Although
that period of his life is now over he has volunteered to prepare Thanksgiving
Dinner the end of next month, and we are certainly looking forward to same.

He also surprised us by becoming engaged this weekend to his girlfriend whom
he dated all through College.

Our only grandson James is still only in grade12 Patricia but has way more credits than needed to graduate by Christmas.
He wants to be a heavy duty mechanic so the more credits the easer to get into vocational training college on Vancouver Island
so as he can still live at home and keep working. He has just been promoted to "salads and desserts" :D huge pay raise 3$ an hour
extra plus larger share of tips.He is going to need it as he wants to visit his girlfriend in Adelaide where she is "housemother" and assistant trainer
to a group of Aussie young people at a rowing school.
Best wishes to your grandson and his girlfriend Patrica
Tina have to tell you about cure all Jewish Penicillin. I had just had quadruple bypass heart surgery(was only 37  ) but had lost my voice
when the breathing tube was inserted.3 weeks all I could do was croak like a frog.My little Jewish mother decided it was time for CHICKEN SOUP
but in true Jewish tradition finely chopped parsley has to be sprinkled on the soup before serving. Some of the parsley stuck in my throat and I had a major coughing
fit.My sternum was still knitting together and if I knew I was going to cough or sneeze I had to hold a pillow against my chest but I didn't know I was going to cough :)
My sternum popped out and the two pieces gave me a pointy look to my chest.Mum never made me chicken soup again well not with sprinkled parsley in it :D Got my voice back though
but it took a day before my chest popped back into place.
