Beautiful dog everliver, the best mate you could have. A dog is always there for you. I hope your post isn't as sad as it sounds.

Bob, I know how you feel. I have just shed a tear for you as I lost my best mate "Nell" an 11 year old Bichon last year. I still miss her so very much. I am lucky enough to still have her sister "Rosie" who is 13 and hanging on in there! Keep your chin up. You are in my thoughts.

Oh Bobby I'm so so sorry to hear this news. Heartbreaking to lose a much loved companion.
As my son put it when we lost our beloved golden retriever; "you miss coming home to someone who loves you and is delighted to see you but never gives you a hard time.
Try to take comfort in the knowledge that your best mate had a great life with you and your family and enjoyed your company as much as you did his.xx

To my friends on the forum thank you all for those kind words.
Sammi was my best mate loved getting up in the morning shower him at the bottom the stairs then going for our walk and then sitting down and have breakfast together. Well once again thank you all for those kind words.
Regards Bobby x

Bob - So very, very, sorry to read about the loss of your beloved "Sammi."
I know what you are going through as we had our "Toby" for thirteen years
who grew up with my youngest, Jillian. It really is like losing one of your
Family. The only consolation was, that we had had the pleasure and
enjoyment of having him for so long and to this day still relate various
"quirks" he had, i.e: Whenever we would go out we would come back
to find every cushion in the house lined up down the hallway - his way
of telling us (we thought) that he didn't appreciate being left behind!! :D

Ah Bob I`m so sorry about your Dog, your very best friend Sammi...You have to be an animal lover to understand the pain and sense of loss when they leave you,,,,,,My Lab/Collie cross Casey went to doggie heaven in May 2005 :( she was 18, I still hear her patter down the hall...I really am sorry for you and the family.

Matt - My sentiments too, cannot take the upset anymore so
consequently, the only pet we have at the moment is a Hermit
Crab that Lew found slowly making it's way up the driveway TEN years ago
have no idea to this day where the devil it came from but it was in the
Fall and we knew it wouldn't live in the cold weather outside!! :D

You will miss him , most probably for ever, even when you get another dog. Each animal is different and each fills a different hole. xx
