Queen's birthday honours

Postby filsgreen » Sat Jun 17, 2017 9:31 am

I can't understand why the Queen leaves it so late to recognise people. I've just heard that Olivia DeHavilland has just been made a Dame at nearly 101 years old  . It could be said that it's better late than never, but how long will Olivia be around to appreciate it? It's a similar story with Billy Connolly.

Probably her advisors were too young to ever have heard of Olivia, Phil.
Only when she was up for the 100 telegram did some flunky notice. :D Ken

Did you see the Trooping of the Colours yesterday?
We watched it on "catch up " last night.
It was the Best of British and just the tonic London & the Country needed after such a rubbish month. Brilliant show and organisation and the Capital looking splendid in glorious weather.
It gave us a lift. Proud to be British.

Hi Ken

Just watched it on BBC iPlayer down under. Great show as usual.
