Whilst LFC not appealing the Red Card, they are likely to appeal the sentence.
They hope to reduce the three game ban by a game or 2.
Just take it on the chin ( bad choice of words) and get it over with. He can be replaced by Coutinho, not a bad option to have. Ken

Seems a daft way to go following the publicity and photos of the sustained injury.

They should leave it as there is good possibility of the ban being extended if they appeal.

The punishment for a failed appeal against a Red Card can be extended but in this case they appealed only excessive punishment on the grounds of "no intent"
Cheers Ken

Just heard , appeal rejected but no additional punishment . Misses Burnley & Leicester and Leicester again in the League Cup ( Carbonara cup ☕️ or something. Ken

What a poor second half. Two centre backs were hopeless. I like Salah but he's a bit of a one trick pony and playing him on the right he has to cut in because he's one footed so the defender clocks that soon enough.
Not much joy tonight, Seville were not a great side, we were poor. :P Ken

There's no class in the middle of midfield, poor show from Can and Henderson. Shankly said "If you don't concede goals you don't lose games" Sako and Matip would have been ideal.

Hendo 's lost it Eddy. Pace and passing lacking and seemingly no leader.
Very poor shooting from Firmino, Salah, Can. Lots of pace but no brains without Coutinho and Lallana. Ken

I've never thought that Hendo had it Ken :) definitely not a top four player, I'm still baffled he's England's captain.

Wish Danny Ward would be number 1 goalie. He's certainly safer than Karius.

Should have wrapped the game up before half time and taking countino off was the turning point I am lost for words about Klopps selections as now we are out of that cup and forget the premiership so we have to give it all and play his very best players for the champions league to keep us in it but after that there is also the FA cup but he doesn't rate that competition either :(

Not impressed with Chamberlain. Must admit the idea of him coming to LFC didn't exactly light up my world but I hope he changes my mind at some point; he sure didn't last night.

Flanagan and Henderson were way off the mark too.

Was Grujic's yellow card before the second goal? If not why did he so theatrically pull out of challenging Slimani to allow him a free run at goal?

Positives...
Return of Danny Ings
Robertson's showing (especially in the first half)
Danny Ward - not to blame for either goal and a good solid performance the other 2 keepers could learn from

I agree with you Bernie, I thought that Danny Ward had an excellent game, especially when he came out to the edge of the penalty area and caught the ball amongst a crowd of players. Either of the other two keepers would have punched it (that is if they had come that far out to deal with it).
I have always quite liked Chamberlain, but he had an absolute shocker last night.
Why is it that Henderson's first thought always seems to be to turn back towards his own goal and pass backwards?
There were far too many sideways and backward passes last night. Have you noticed that with nearly all Liverpools passes, the receiver has to stop or take a step backwards in order to control it. The ball is very really played in front of them so as they are on the move when they receive it.
The sooner Klopp gets rid of that zonal marking system ,the better it will be. I can never understand how, when players are all standing within a yard or two of each other, how they decide whose zone the ball is going to drop in, subsequently they all seem to leave it to each other.

All teams know we are clueless at defending Bill so they work on it. Set pieces are a nightmare.
Henderson needs dropping for the good of the team, he gives little protection to those useless central defenders.

Never been a lover of Henderson, lacks skill, he never looks comfortable on the ball always looking to pass back. As stated above, the ball should be played in front of the players for them to run on to not having to stop and track back. I'd persevere with Gomez at centre half and Ward in goal. Robertson looks good. We played some of our best football this season in the first half but couldn't find the back of the net. Capitulated in the second half.

I like Robertson going forward but again he fits the Klopp mould of an attacking player.
We need defenders at full back and defensive midfielders. He let Lucas and Kevin Stewart go who were defensively minded midfielders. Not sure about Grujic but he needs a run. Ken

We have finally got agreement between blue and red supporters on this site and I have a post I can place on both threads. So I will.

Both have the makings of a good team
Both have spent plenty in the 'window'.
Both need a player for a specific position.
Both are losing regularly.
Both have managers with excellent records.
Both have plenty of supporters blaming the manager.

Times don't change.

You could also add;
Both managers don't seem to grasp the people of Merseyside are passionate about their teams and demand a successful campaign which requires good results in all competitions.
Put it down to English not being their first language but some of the things these two say are ridiculous, the latest being Klopp saying Liverpool's defeat at Leicester was a development.
"Development my botty" to quote Jim Royle  Ken

Well that was better, a good result and a good game. We showed some fight and some good defending ( and some not so good ) Great stop from Mingolet and Sturridge looked good when he came on. Even Henderson had a half decent game and knocked one in , not bad overall. :D Ken

Mingolet gave the penalty away in the first place and he is hopeless and i say get shut and he came for a corner and missed the ball and they scored so again for the 2nd time get shut and leave ward in for the rest of the season and Henderson as you said only had a half decent game which is still no good as you need a captain that gives 100% which means a full decent game not a half but 3 points is 3 points :P

Mingolet makes in interesting Henry :D He made a couple of good saves other than the penalty and he was held back for one goal. Credit where it's due I thought Henderson had his best game for some time and was our best on the night. Ken

Agree with you Ken, I thought Henderson had his best game so far. I'm baffled why Robertson isn't in the side. The referee was poor, playing 3 mins 20 seconds not the 2 minutes allowing them to score and how did they get the 5 minutes extra time at the end when no trainer was on the pitch.
