Nice one Bern.

My choice for today has to be in memory of my daft old Ma who married my Pa 86 years ago today and would have been 105 on Sunday;
thinking about my Mother Mary;

On a momentous day for the UK following the EU referendum...

Pardon the puns...
"Power to the people" who cast their votes and had their say. Up to "yesterday" we were all in one of two camps - now those two camps need to "come together" to make this work in the best way it can.

US number one on this date in 1973, think this is a fitting sentiment as we remember those lost 100 years ago at The Somme...

As Ringo celebrated his 76th yesterday (Peace and love man, peace and love!), here he is in 2005 doing his first solo composition for The Beatles (from 'the white album')...

Don't know about Fab Four - I feel like a one man band on this thread recently! :(

Anyway, onwards and upwards - a little something from Sgt. Pepper...

Very good bee. Just when you thought you had heard it all from Dr Winston another one pops up.

Complete change of mood for this weeks offering.... Yellow Submarine, released as a single 50 years ago today.....

Thanks Bee and Keith for keeping the kettle boiling on this thread while I was in sunny Spain.

Agree about Yellow Sub but love or loathe it still has its place in the band's history and, like Bee i do love 'I've just seen a face'.

A little early one from me this week...

It is indeed Bee - not often we get a French Horn solo in a pop song.

Naughty boy Scotty, but as it's an interesting video we'll let you off :wink: :D

I wonder if the computer fiddled with the sound as well as the colour - some of the vocals were, to put it mildly, a little out of sorts.

Cheers

Thanks Bernie, I thought the vocals sounded a bit different when I first listened to it, but couldn't put my finger on it.

Sorry Bern prefer Carl Perkins' version - proper rock n roll!

My choice this FFF is the Stones singing Lennon & McCartney. I'm not a big Stones fan but liked Brian Jones' playing on this ......and anything is better than listening to Ringo "sing" it :roll:

Love this simple one from 'A Hard Day's Night'....

Haha - all the times I've seen that and only just noticed the pics of beetles on the wall behind the band.
