I think all the clues are pointing toward the Tamogochi .

Graham, sorry to disappoint but wouldn't have got that in a month of Sunday's :)
So glad mystery title seems to have been solved by fellow teammate Bee :D (

Award should also go to Phil, most clues ever given in a pop quiz

Bee has stole your thunder, Shelagh. I don't think you have heard of the song or singer as the answers were there. Hurricane, also had hits called, "Oh babe, what would you say" and "Who was it". Hurricane was also the producer for Pink Floyd. I think it's a bit of a crappy teaser though, thats why I gave so many clues, so I'm glad it's gone. Your turn, Bee. :D

Totally agree, Phil, never heard of Hurricane or his songs, perhaps I'm just not with it :(
Well done to Bee, we're all glad it's gone

Phil (and Shelagh) sorry if you thought I was stealing anyone's thunder, I try not to geg in when someone else has done the hard work but as I got the Japanese connection I thought I was OK.
Shelagh I'm sure you'll recognise it when you hear it; perhaps not all of the song but it's one of those where we all joined in on the refrain "don't let it diiiiiiiii.... don't let it diiiiiiii"

Said in jest, Bee, as I've said, it was a poor teaser and we were glad you got it. :D

Not that one Phil, although yours does fit the clue too.

Bee, no worries, I have no thunder to steal :D
Just glad you came in when you did, was just about to concede :(
Hoping you and the others might chip in earlier, as the variety of clues were confusing!
The Japan clue, I did spot immediately, from the Vapours song, but dismissed it as being useless
The tamogochi clue I also spotted, but went right over my head, as I said, would never have connected the clues to the song,
So no problems here, no need for apologies, I only join in this quiz because there's not much else happening on the site!
Have to fill in the space somehow
Thanks for the link Bee, I do recognise the song, but think I may have heard it by another artist..
"Hurricane" now forever etched on my mind :D

My tamogochi would have been 20 this year.... if I hadn't lashed it in the bin the moment it was given to me!

Nice one Bill; i knew you'd get it :D although I thought it was by Bing. Of course you're right, I've just checked and Patti Page was the original recording artiste although she didn't chart in the UK with it.
Time to change partners; your go.....

Phil, I think a Paul Jones dance was sometimes also known as an "excuse me".
Another easy one this time from the 60s ; CUL DE SAC

Bee, I have never known a Paul Jones dance referred to as an 'excuse me' dance.
An 'excuse me' dance is usually announced as a 'gentleman's excuse me or ' ladies excuse me' where anyone (male or female depending on the selected dance) can go on to the dance floor and tap someone on the shoulder and say "excuse me" and then take that persons place and dance with their partner.
Hope that makes sense.

Could they be PICKIN A CHICKIN with EVE BOSWELL

Bill, thanks for that, I had a a vague memory of my mum telling me what a Paul Jones dance was and have obviously got it confused with a "lady's excuse me" heard somewhere else..... I'm sadly of the generation when we'd stopped dancing "together" or "in hold" as they say on Strictly :(
