Sorry Shelagh, not the answer. Keep trying.

Sorry Shelagh, you are still overthinking. The answer is far simpler. As I have said before, look at the question carefully because the answer is there in front of you.

Hooray! Congratulations Bernie, Meg Ryan it is.
Nannette Newman is incorrect, but you are on the right lines regarding the fishing gear.
Nobody called Don from Aberdeen I'm afraid.

Well done again Bernie, Shelagh can now have a rest after you getting that one :D :)

Shelagh, 'Germany confused' means an anagram of Germany in cryptic parlance.
I told you it was easy.

You can now start working full time on that Robin :) :D :)

Morning caps and chapesses. Ta for concern about migraines. Like you Bill I suffered horrendously painful migraines from childhood to mid 30 but sort of grew out of them. I now just get vsual disturbance type ones (not painful) occasionally but have had dozens of them in the past few weeks.
Well done again Bern - like you I'd been thinking anagram of WAS GERMANY

Will have a very dodgy go at #1 with ANNETTE CROSBIE - a net Crosby is north of Bootle????

Hi Bill, so glad Bern solved the mystery of Germany :D
definitely looking at the question with wrong eyes, believing it to be anagram of Germany confused by her..hence my answers 'Herman' twice, then when 'Herman' was out of the running 'Hermione' was introduced, because of name pronunciation HER MY HU KNEE sounding like a confused Germany..just so,no misunderstanding of guesses
Bill Quote:
No 6. Is the easiest, any regular cryptic crossword fan would probably have solved this in minutes. You have already had this person previously, but with a different clue!! Going over past guesses, but no Meg Ryan :? sending me off on wild goose chases are you Mr quizmaster :(
Team are doing great, pleased that 6 has gone :) let's hope a few more get solved today :)

Good thinking Bee, liking those two answers

First attempt at dancing Robin :D
No 2. Trying this out..here we go..
Robin = Chat - short form of Charlton or Charleston - Heston - from HES ita T i ON -
Could very well be Charlton Heston..or 'Charleston He's On'
Just a guess..

Hilarious Bill  different clue than this one, and given twelve months ago..would need a photographic memory to go back that far in search of clue  trouble enough remembering this set  without looking back for more :)
Onwards and upwards for last two!

Morning Bill, took another look at no 4.
Could be DEAN MARTIN?
Dean - from Aber Deen - Dean of a parish would be confirmed - rendezvous - Mart - Inn :?
Herb Dean another possibility?

A few ideas for that dancing Robin, None as yet printable :)

Good morning Shelagh, it's good to see that you are still thinking about these. I hope they are not keeping you awake too long. :)

An incorrect answer I'm afraid.

Best I can do for #4 is ANGUS DEAYTON ...... Aberdeen Angus cattle and date-on confirmed rendezvous???

this keen to dance Robin - I notice has a capital R so must be a proper noun??? Robin Reliant or Robin Hood etc..... just putting it out there..

Haha! Don't think I'll be losing sleep over them, but must say, spotted the odd little Robin flying about in my dreams lately :)
Last two answers, probably as obvious as the Meg Ryan...needs just one word to jump out, then Hey presto! cryptic solved

Bee

I like your thinking on number 4 - but will Bill?

I noticed the capital R in Robin nad wondered about that.
I've been looking at something for an anagram (dance) of 'TheRobin' but without the er (no hesitation).
Alas it's got me nowhere as yet.

Very well done Bee, never gave Angus a thought, so clever

Bernie clue - No Er leads me to actors called Noah..never heard of this person, his name is Noah Robbins, been in lots of T.V. shows apparently..one being Grease!
So will opt for him.. NOAH ROBBINS, simply because of dance connection???

Morning Bill,
Another day, another thought :)
The Robin had no hesitation - R- obin - T-o - Dan-ce?
Could it be American actor,
'DAN TOBIN' :?

Good morning Shelagh, neither of those.
I apologise for not answering your first attempt as I was out in the afternoon, and then playing in a bowling match last night, and so I never noticed it.

Keep trying, I am made up, this is the longest any of my quizzes have lasted.
Think about any names associated with Robin.

Ok so having a go at this prancing Robin character..... Mr Google tells me that there is an actor named
CHRISTOPH WALTZ
i.e. CHRISTOPH(ER) ROBIN without the ER (thanks Bernie) and the only Christoph with a dancy name is this guy who I've never heard of...

Congratulations Bee , that's the one. If you googled him you would see that he has won best actor awards, and has appeared in James Bond movie.
All wrapped up now, will try to come up with some others as soon as I can. I am very busy now that the bowling season has arrived,as I play in 5 different leagues(another match this afternoon, then off to Blackburn,as our son is taking us out for a meal for my wife Margaret's birthday)
