Graham - What a wonderful photo - you really get the impact
when same is enlarged!
While down in South Carolina we visited " Brookgreen Gardens"
which is a must if you are ever there. The various birds were
not afraid at all and just sat on the railings looking at you. We
should have labelled the photos but you know how that goes.
Do you have any idea of the name of this bird?

Our new Aircraft Carrier, Queen Elizabeth arriving in Portsmouth today.
My Grandson was in one of the hundreds of RIBs and small boats to escort her in. They picked her up off Hayling Island where they are at their Summer house.

Thanks Ken.Quite a large ship to say the least.
Would hate to have to run round the deck four times
for not tying my hammock up correctly like on the Vanguard
That is why I was happy to be in submarines later on

Just under 70,000 mt Matt. Another one under construction. No planes and not enough escorts to operate them securely globally but the Navy happy . :D Ken

Thanks, Graham re the "Purple Heron" which photo I have duly marked
for correct identification in the future! :D Lovely photo of the "Swan Goose"
We have a lot of "Canadian Geese" here which I love to hear calling
to each other while in flight!
Sunday was such a lovely day we went down to Fort Monroe and took
a walk along the Prom. The river was busy with various cargo boats
and what we thought was a "Fleet Oiler" that Lew said refills other ships
It was neat hearing them blow the ships' horns at each other as they were
passing.

A lovely walk; pathway along the cliffs of Scarborough North shore, heading towards Scarborough Castle, lovely views, there's a little old churchyard close to castle, and this is the burial place of Anne Bronte!
