This piece of Street Art is titled 'A case history' by John King, each item of the sculpture represents a labelled suitcases belonging to many of Hope Street Quarter's most illustrious names and organisations. Located on Hope Street close to LIPA building and the Unity theatre. There is a story board at hand to identify each piece and the names represented.

On a visit a couple of years ago was gobsmacked to see 'students' skateboarding on to the sculpture. When I reprimanded them for their stupidity and vandalism I was surprised to discover they were students from Spain. I told them to have respect for the town they were guests in, they just shrugged shoulders and went away..

Bernie - Sorry not to have been available to answer your question but Mackenzie has done a splendid job of it
We were on a tour of Liverpool in 2009 when they stopped nearby for us to take photos.

[quote="Patricia"]Great food and ambiance at The Grange!
I see that you visited Thornton Hough on your travels Patricia. I'm sure you'll agree with me that it's well worth a visit by other ex-pat BB's on their trips "home".
Although my son and his family have now moved out of the village the children still go to the primary and pre schools in this lovely village. ....
And that gives me an excuse to post a link to my Jack's recent brush with the paparazzi - that's him on the right of the pic.

Thanks Lily,
glad you spotted the post as I've been meaning to mention the village to you since you posted a thread about Port Sunlight. On that thread you posted a pic of of Thornton Manor which is part of the village of Thornton Hough.
If you do go to Port Sunlight on your next trip "home" it's worth carrying on the extra few miles to have a look at the village and have a "swifty" in the Seven Stars. Then just a couple of miles further brings you to pretty Parkgate where you can join the throngs eating Nicholls ice cream as they sit on the river bank and stare over to Wales!
Cheers, Bee

Hi Bee - I certainly agree with you, we have always been smitten with Thornton Hough. I have a nephew that lives in Gayton, Wirral, so we always visit when across the pond usually ending up at The Grange for a lovely meal
Your son is indeed a handsome young boy, as is his friend and what an achievement - eight years in a row, which is well deserved

Hi Patricia,
just giggling at your comment that my son is a "handsome young boy" - he'd love that given that he's 40 next birthday That's my son's son in the pic and of course I think he's a beautiful boy even though he's inherited my unruly mop of hair!
I agree with you that the Grange offers good food and good value but on your next trip why not try dinner at one of our excellent restaurants in Parkgate. We favour the Marsh Cat and Mr Chews (Chinese) but all of the restaurants and pubs have great views. No doubt you'll already have sampled Nicholls's ice cream?
Better stop before I begin to sound like a tourism advert........

A warm day in a back yard in Keats Street in the 50s. I am wearing my knitted bathing costume and holding the jug. I think it's Beryl Totty standing next to me and it might be Jimmy Corrigan at the rear. Life was simple in those days...
