Nice one Joe.

Sign of the times how many folk seem wary of the person with the camera, while these days folk snap away on their phones and nobody bats an eyelid.

That is a great photo Joe - Remember every Thursday afternoon going to Balliol Rd Swimming Pool with the class & teacher, Miss McDonald, for our swimming lessons. Surprising that just a pic of a certain road can immediately spark your memory of days long gone!!

Thought this was cute....

NURSERY RYMES UPDATED
FOR THE 21st CENTURY:

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall
The structure of the wall was incorrect
So he won ten grand with Claims Direct!

It's raining, it's pouring
Of course its Global Warming.

Jack & Jill went into town
To fetch some chips & sweeties
Now he can't keep his heart rate down
And she's got diabetes.

Georgie Porgie pudding and pie
Kissed the girls and made them cry
When the boys came out to play
He kissed them too but that's okay!

Mary had a little lamb
It ran into a pylon
10,000 volts struck it's back
And turned it's wool into nylon!!

Love that latest pic, Joe.

Patricia,

I had that Temptations song cued up in the car when bringing our newborn Holly home from hospital. Once our precious cargo was safely strapped in, started the engine and the CD player welcomed her to our family! x

Another variation for your rhyme collection

Jack and Jill went up the hill
To fetch a pail of water
Don't know what they did up there
But now they have a daughter

The Summer houses and arch have long since gone. But the steps and the Poulsom Statue, remain. Thanks Joe.
This would make a great Then & Now subject.

Great picture Joe, It appears to be when the Branch Tunnel entrance and exit was near completion in 1934.

Joe - Great photo remember well those organized Coach day out visits and the singing on the bus when returning also passing around a container to "Tip" the coach driver. I don't recognize anybody on the photo - which one is your Grandmother? Thanks for posting.

Here is a photo of my eldest bro Norman at his first teaching post at Bootle Grammar. Does anybody recognize themselves on there?
