Sheelagh and Frank thank you for the compassion you have shown regarding Bill I appreciate your kindness and remembering.

Bill passed away today January 19th at 10 40 pm people were so kind putting Bills name on although he was not a member I didn't have the heart to say they had made a mistake in the date.
.
I spent the day alone by choice neither making calls or receiving them.
Played some of his favourte music and sat remembering our life together.

Finally turned on the TV that held a few surprises for me. First two musicals we liked "Carousel" (we saw at the Empire a week before we got married.)Then Calamity Jane the first record I bought of Doris Day singing " Secret Love.

Switching again I then heard Glen Clampbell singing My Boy Bill (again from Carousel)

And later heard Andre Rieu playing "You'll never walk alone" from Carousel. I felt like I was getting a musical message from Bill of some of the times we spent together.

Sheelagh once again thank you so much along with Frank for remembering Bill. We both know how he loved his visits to the QV and the meetings there.

Nice one Lily, have lit a candle for 'Our Annie'

A lady who will always be remembered for her love of life.
A character who was always there with wit and wisdom.

A lovely poem she wrote.

LONELY DAFFODIL

WELL I'VE LOOKED UP,AND IVE LOOKED DOWN,
BUT STILL I HAVEN'T FOUND,
THE POEM ABOUT THE DAFFODIL' THAT STOOD THERE IN THE GROUND
I SAW THIS FLOWER IN STERRIX LANE.
JUST WAFTING IN THE BREEZE.
AND ALL IT HAD FOR COMPANY, WAS GRASS AND GREEN AND LEAVES.
---------------------------------------------------------------
I LOOKED AT IT AND FELT SO SAD,
AS IT STOOD THERE,ALL ALONE
AND THOUGHT TO MYSELF SO SELFISHLY.
SHOULD I TAKE IT HOME
I'D BE CONTENT THAT I KNOW, TO HAVE IT'S COMPANY
BUT WOULD THAT LITTLE FRAGILE FLOWER.
BE AS CONTENT WITH ME
-----------------------------------------------------------------
I COULD'NT QUITE MAKE UP MY MIND,
JUST WHAT TO DO UNTIL
SOME CHILDREN CAME UPON THE FIELD,
JUST BY THE DAFFODIL
THEY WENT QUITE CLOSE,AND BENT DOWN LOW
MY HEART BEGAN TO LEAP
WOULD THEY PLUCK IT FROM THE GROUND,
THEIR VERY OWN TO KEEP
-------------------------------------------------------------------
THEY STAYED A WHILE AND THEN STOOD UP
AND THEN THEY TURNED TO PLAY,
"WE WILL ALL BE LATE FOR SCHOOL "
I HEARD THE ELDEST SAY
MY PREDICAMENT WAS OVER
THESE BOYS HAD SOLVED MY PLIGHT.
EVEN WITHOUT KNOWING IT
THEY'D SHOWN ME WHAT WAS RIGHT
----------------------------------------------------------------
AS I TURNED ROUND AND WALKED AWAY
I KNEW THAT I WAS RIGHT.
TO TAKE THAT FLOWER FROM IT'S HOME
I HAD'NT ANY RIGHT
IF LITTLE HANDS CAN LEAVE THAT FLOWER.
PERFECT AS IT SHOULD BE
THEN I MYSELF MUST LEAVE IT THERE
FOR ALL THE WORLD TO SEE

By "Our Annie."

Still miss my soul mate. Happy Anniversary.

Here is a pic from 1966, going to Wembley.

I'm sure you do Kathy, every single day.
I hope you feel John draw close to you.
Sweet dreams of your lovely man.
Great photo of happy times. I was in London in the Army that day. An Evertonian kissed me after the match and I gave him short shrift, he said I've come all the way to the Big Smoke only to kiss a scouser!!

Kathy,
I will be thinking of John today, It seems strange that his birthday is today, his uncle Joe,s was on the 5th.,March, mine is on the 10th., and my elder brother who was lost just after he was born, his is on the 17th.,

Terrific photo of John on one of the best days of our lives,

Love from Bill & Penny Tomo, xxx

P/S Its strange to think that my Dad could have been one of the first persons to see John, I can Imagine what wetting the babies head would have been like, a great celebration of the Moorecrofts & the Thompsons
I bet there was quite a bit of Guiness supped that night.

Kathy, So many happy memories of our men. The 19th March would have been 53 years for me and my John. It is also my granddaughters 22nd birthday. It is a sad thing that our husbands missed out on grandchildren growing up.

It's been 2 years since we lost our dear friend Marielou.

A good friend to many, always thoughtful and willing to help others with whatever she could.

Still miss seeing her name on threads.
R I P Marielou. you are in good company.

Marie 777 (The Otherone) Has written this lovely poem,
and has given me permission to put on here to share.

All the lovely people, no longer on the Forum.
Gone to meet their Maker, with dignity and decorum.
One of those, our Marielou, you know she was the best.
She was our Computer whiz and we were really blessed.

One day she had a special call, just one of six or seven.
But this one had a different ring, this call was sent from Heaven.
They had a job for Marielou that no one else could fill.
And so God chose our dearest friend, to do His work and will.

We all still miss you special friend, your name pops up quite often.
This is just to let you know "You'll Never Be Forgotten'

Thank you 'Otherone'
