This is a photo Of Oak Street Morriss Dancers. Most of the girls lived in Ash Street, Holly Street and Oak Street and one in Litherland Road.
Back Row from Left to Right:
June Winder, Jean Cooke, Jean Chaderton, Pat Sullivan (dec),Dorothy Hastings, Barbara Ellison (dec)
Centre: Hetty Hopwood
Front Row from Left to Right:
Dorothy Webster, Valerie Wells (dec), Elsie Jones, Barbara Hastings.
(dec = deceased - those I know of)
This photo came via my mum who is Jean Cooke (also remained Cooke when she married then Calder when she re-married). Barbara Ellison became MacFarlane. Sorry don't have any more info on the other girls.

Hi..thanks for the Oak Street Morris dancers photo there are
two I can't place and one maybe but I remember all the rest certainly
remember your Mum Jean and sister Lily with Mum and Dad lived

The Joan Filson you mention, did she have a sister Margaret who went to the Girls Grammer?

Hi Glenys, Yes. If I remember rightly it was you who gave me Margaret's ex husbands e-mail so I could get in touch with Joan, which i did after 50 years! Really must e-mail her again as it was about a year ago.

Doh..........Joyce my memory..................of course I remember now. :?

I got an email from Colin Pratt, ex husband of Margaret, last month; he and his wife Heida were visiting Abersoch for his 80th birthday ; quite a few of his family were with them to celebrate. He is back in England again in December.

Asking the same question as ab, love the topic but it i do get frustrated when no school name is attached to the photos, you may not know them yourself Bobby so perhaps it would be helpful if you added name of school not known, and could anyone who does know the name post the information on the thread.

I have yet to see any school class photographs from my time or my elder brothers time at St Winefrides. JJC.

I I know it’s St Mary’s, but don’t know when as Jimmy was 14 when I was born in 1955!

A Lot of my friend went to the Winnes and they had a good swimming team not bad at football as well.

i went to all St,Winnies schools from the infants .the juniors and the seniors and they were the best years of my life
