My Dad's funeral was held as Bellamines. He was a retired fireman. The Fire Service sent two fire engines along with a number of fireman. At the end of the service as we left the church we noticed a huge crowd waiting outside. My mum turned to me and said "who are all these people". It turned out the crowd thought the church had been on fire!!!

What a coincidence, my mate was a fire fighter, an appliance and crew turned up at the church. ;)

Boss Hogg, the Fire Service usually send a couple of engines and a guard of honour when one of there members pass away. The fire engines and firemen sent to attend the funeral are usually from the last station the deceased retired from. My father worked at many many stations on Merseyside and retired from Crosby station.

My mucker retired as assistant divisional officer down in Gloucestershire. He's now fire chief on an USAF base over in America with his new wife, I must get in touch and book a free holiday! :D
