I started school here at Blairgowrie on Balliol Road early 60s. I remember the hallway and stairs being full of stuffed birds etc, did anyone else attend and do they have any pictures, unfortunately I don't remember the names of any children or teachers but somebody may have names that may ring a bell.

How strange, I was only thinking of this the other day. When I was at Bootle Grammar in the late sixties one boy in our class, named Rothwell, I think, had previously been to Blairgowrie. It was only when reading this post that I learned it the school was actually near here and not in Scotland as I had assumed all those years. Well, I am a bit wiser now that I use to be!

Lian remembers this school, she says the girls wore royal blue piped edge blazer with a matching straw boater.

Thanks, for the responses, when I attended Blairgowrie, the summer uniform for girls was a cream dress piped with red and red buttons, I had a boater also. :)

Yes, i too remember the uniform. We were a bit further up the road at Bootle Grammar School for Girls. Can only remember one girl from our school who had attended Blairgowrie; Astrid Jurgensen(sp?) was a couple of years older than me so would have been at Blairgowrie until 1959. Also seem to remember Debi Jones (of broadcating "fame" ) is a Blairgowrie old girl.

My wife's youngest sister Susan Worrall used to attend Blairegowrie round about 1962 V.I. and
my uncle Dr. John Wethered lived next door when he first got married in 1955.
