Aww Matt.. What a lovely handsome family picture...definitely one to cherish
Was always playing in and around prefabs as a child,, friends lived in North park prefabs..
I thought they were great,,compact kitchens with little pantry..and gardens big enough to play rounders in..everything a youngster needs.. lovely memories of those days
(Always think the old b/w photos more interesting)

Bob - That is a neat idea!! The prob is that I have sooooo many photos I really
don't know which to post - do you want our parents when they were young
with or without family or when they became senior citizens? I'm taking a chance
and posting one that was taken in Chester with my bro Keith doing his very
best to look debonair My dear Dad always had his pipe with him and my
lovely Mum always had her "handbag" with her!
Matt the outfit I'm wearing is one of Mr. Fishel's "Specials!"

Great photo Patricia. Sid Fischel used to have the Wethered male measurements for suits
in his little filing box(cardboard container) but as he once said"all of you are long arms and
legs, short body and no bum".
125lbs then and lots of hair. 185lbs now and bald as a coot.
but thanks Scotty cheque is in the mail

Loving all the old pictures, you're mam looks lovely Bob, and the pill box hat very becoming!
A wise woman, judging by the advice given
You're dad looking very smart also - a bit like a U.S pilot in that uniform!!
(Will have to dig into the archives to see what I can come up with)

Lovely photo of your sweet-faced Mum & good looking Dad, Bob!
Shelagh - Have no idea how I managed to walk around Chester all
day in those heels, couldn't do that now!
Matt - Remember when I started dating Lew my bros couldn't wait
for Mr. Fishel to start measuring him for a new wardrobe. He ended
up with two new suits, a sports coat an overcoat and a felt
cap. The guards at Burtonwood then started calling him"Limey" every
time he departed and returned through the gates at Burtonwood!!

Great story Patricia.think I have said it before but my mother was thrilled when she met Sid.
Until then I am sure she thought she was the only Jewish person in Bootle. He used to natter on to her in
Yiddish but she could not understand a word. She was a Sephardic Jew not Ashkenazi and spoke Ladino.
Ah well they were great friends and he treated her like the Little Jewish Princess she thought she was
(She came from a very wealthy family and was the first born girl !!!)
Great photos Bob.Is that a uniform your dad is wearing? and your mum looks very elegant...pretty lady.
