Thanks Bernie for the photos
these so called modern buildings never last
the marsh lane estate has been remodelled so many times
most of the houses knocked down could have been saved
in anfield the same age houses have been refurbished
to a great standard

That age of construction contained a lot of asbestos Bob. We have old peoples flats by us which look lovely but have been condemned. They started to upgrade them last year and discovered the costs to eliminate it were so prohibitive it was more viable to knock them down and rebuild. Ken

You are right Ken unfortunely like most of us building workers
the amount of asbestos we where subjected to work around when new stuff was getting built
is enormous i worked on lots of new build in bootle then sefton
i wont name estates but i would not drill or do building work with out
getting the allclear lots of the 60s schools wich are still used
contain lots of hidden dangers
the ford estate before some upgrades had astbestos gutters
and we had to clean and scrape them down
knowing that it a long time for the effects
i have blood tests every year
