i was tracking this directory i feel sorry for the winner
he paid £150 :roll: :roll: :roll:
this is only a 160 page street name soft back
the average full gores has over a thousand pages
so be carefull if you bid on this short edition
they are hard to find

Thanks for that good advice Bob. At auction, the average hammer price for a full Gores is about £70 WHEN they do come up. Even adding on auctioneer's fees you're still looking at less than £100 so you're right to feel sorry for the buyer!

Bee i always look for any directories and as you have mentioned
the price can be as much as £100
i got a 1920s one last year but that was only the official section
it was offered as a full street directory but it after complaining to the book store i bought it from on ebay
they refunded my money and as a gesture they gave me the volume
so always check how many pages
gores are such a help for everybody

Re bootle streets directory
I wonder if the books shows the name of the church in Balfour road our family moved into 75 in 1943 and know in the family new the name of the church .I was born in jan1946 all I grew up with was the Daisy field Adolf bombed the
church I Iive in Brisbane Oz luv to know the name ///Davey
