Found this by accident on FMP news papers. Thought it was fun and interesting.

Here goes.--
REMARKABLE EGG - A hen of the Dorking breed, belonging to Mr G. P. Jones Drake Street Bootle, has produced a somewhat extraordinary double egg. The larger or outside egg is of immense size, being 3 1/4 inches in length by 2 3/8 in the opposite direction. Within the larger egg is a small one, about the average size of a hen egg, the shell and other parts being perfectly developed. The hen is about 15 months old, and has on several previous occasions laid eggs of a large size.

This was in the Liverpool Mercury 18th July 1869, just after a report of one of my rellies trying to commit suicide.
