located on Pennington Avenue.....trying to find the history on the old building. Also school pics, especially of the INFANTS section....also WHO WAS IT NAMED AFTER? I am thinking a Mayor.

Hi Pkegs,
Roberts school was named after Robert Edward Roberts, he was Mayor of Bootle 1905/6. Born in North Wales 1866 died 1930. He served on the Education committee for 25 years, The school opened in June 1931 in his memory.
Info from "Bootle signposts" . There is a will on ancestry, confirming his date of death as 31st August 1930. He had lived at 44 Merton Road.
