Your Avatar

How to add a pic to your "Profile"... NB: You need to be logged in to your account on our Bootle Forum. Updated December 2019.

Uploading your avatar now automatically compresses the photo file size you want to add to your avatar without having to do it using photo editing software.

It should resize to a maximum width and height of 120px x 120px. If the height is lower it should keep the proportion. Best bet is 120px for both.

Just make sure your uploaded avatar pic is under 2mb. It will not work on any photo sizes above this limit.

Suggested sizes for cropping the original image below... any size actually... they are all square...

120 x 120 will stay at 120 x 120

240 x 240 will resize to 120 x 120

480 x 480 will resize to 120 x 120

960 x 960 will resize to 120 x 120

etc...

Just think Square and keep the profile upload image under 2mb, it will now auto resize the photo file size.

To add or change your profile photo do the following...

1. Click your username top right when logged in.

2. Click Profile (in drop down menu).

3. On this page next to your username click on [Edit profile].

4. On this page on the left click on 'Edit avatar'.

5. You are now on the 'Edit avatar' page so click on the 'Browse' button to navigate to where you photo is on your computer.

6. Hint: Maybe save it to your desktop so you can quickly find it.

7. Click the 'Submit' button.

8. Congratulations... If you have done all the above you now have your avatar photo added to your profile.
