Yes JJ is correct St Joan of Arc was the nearest to Bulwer St. I lived close to Bulwer St on Knowsley Road. St James Marsh Lane would be the next closest.

Hiya Colette, I,m almost sure St. Joans on Peel Road wasn,t built till the middle late 30,s. My Dad from Boswell St. went to St James select he was born 1915, so perhaps it was St.James.

Shee wasn't St James' Select the senior school?
Colette, another possibility for Bulwer St could be Star of the Sea in Seaforth. My mum was born in Bulwer St in 1911 and married from there in 1930 and I'm almost certain the certs give the address as Seaforth. I will check it out when I have more time but I'm pretty sure Star was closer (just over the railway embankment) than the Jimmy's. Being a proddy my ma went to Grayo
